The UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation, operating in strategic cooperation with the prominent Sarajevo Film Festival and the Slano Film Days event, has officially presented its latest selection of seven distinct film projects under the aegis of its Female Filmmakers Support Program.

Originally launched back in 2024 to strengthen gender equality, the regional initiative focuses explicitly on empowering and financing female directors across 6 Southeast European countries including BiH, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria.

The official presentation, which took place during the Slano Film Days 2026 industry gathering in Slano (Croatia), was attended by regional festival executives and film professionals. The 7 selected projects include: Body In Plural directed by Marta Popivoda (Theory at Work - Serbia), Citizens Of Beauty directed by Mila Turajlić (Dribling Pictures - Serbia), Anatomy Of Indifference directed by Ilinca Călugăreanu (Tangaj Production - Romania), How Melissa Blew A Fuse directed by Una Gunjak (SCCA/pro.ba - BiH), Leech directed by Katarina Bulajić (Giggling Goat Production - Montenegro), Until The Day Ends directed by Jelena Maksimović (Taurunum Film - Serbia) and The Swamp directed by Daria Blažević (Kadromat - Croatia). Theselected authors will receive professional development funds via the specialized platform CineLink Industry Days.

Supported directly by the Film Center of Montenegro and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), the initiative provides concrete financial and mentoring support in the active production and post-production stages. Celebrating the second official generation of winners, the UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation representative Petra Solman emphasized that the partnership is successfully transforming into a lasting tradition that would elevate original approach storytelling and encourage vital social dialogue across the country.
