CEE2000 Meters to Andriivka earns six Emmy nominations
The Ukrainian documentary 2000 Meters to Andriivka by Mstyslav Chernov has received six nominations at the annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. The awards ceremony will take place on May 27 and 28.
The film has been nominated in six categories: Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary, Best Documentary, Outstanding Writing: Documentary, Outstanding Direction: Documentary, Outstanding Cinematography: Documentary, Outstanding Editing: Documentary The film portrays events on the battlefield through the eyes of Ukrainian soldiers tasked with advancing roughly two kilometers through a fortified forest area to liberate the village of Andriivka near Bakhmut. The director himself, along with photographer Oleksandr Babenko, worked alongside the troops, documenting their advance under constant attacks. Filming began in September 2023 and lasted nearly a year and a half. The project involved Mstyslav Chernov, photographer Oleksandr Babenko, and producers Michelle Mizner and Raney Aronson-Rath. The score was composed by two-time Grammy Award winner Sam Slater. RELATED
