Kanal D renews game format Think for seasons 5 and 6

Kanal D Romania has renewed its local version of the game format Think for seasons 5 and 6, Turkish distributor Sera Film reports.

Think is a popular word-based game show which first premiered in Turkey in 2009 (known as Kelime Oyunu). The format, owned by Bavaria Entertainment and distributed internationally by Sera Film, has maintained its success with its fun structure and fast pace ever since. Until now, the format has been commissioned in five territories: Turkey, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, and for Kurdish-speaking audiences, showing its broad appeal. It also has recently been optioned in Spain, with increasing interest from other territories.

In 2022, the format Think was licensed by Kanal D Romania (aired as Jocul Cuvintelor/The Word Game), hosted by Dan Negru. The show has quickly become well-loved in Romania with over 300 episodes already aired and has now been officially commissioned for its 5th and 6th seasons.

Thanks to its easy-to-understand and family-friendly structure, even a mobile game of the show was created, which has been downloaded over 100.000 times.

Idil Belli, CEO of Sera Film, stated about the news: "We have always believed in the potential of Think as we surpass the 3,750 episode count in Turkey. We are glad that it is showing similar success and audience permanence in Romania. This performance, all but further proves, the global appeal and adaptability of Think in a time where the industry needs more scalable TV programs."
