Vasyl Dovbush, former media professional at BC Lux and Channel 24 turned soldier, was killed in action, the channel reports.
Vasyl died while performing a combat mission. He had worked at BC Lux from 2015 to 2019. He had been a video editor and designer at Channel 24. His colleague, Lux FM Lviv presenter Diana Lutsyshyn, also announced Vasyl's passing in a Facebook post. She said that Vasyl’s relatives already know about his death. “A black and white photo is not an option here, because you were very bright and cheerful. I just can't wrap my head around this. Incredible, cool, and very cheerful, our Vasylko Dovbush…” wrote the presenter. She added that details about the funeral would be announced later. In a comment to the Institute of Mass Information representative Valentyna Troyan, Diana Lutsyshyn said that Vasyl Dovbush died in Sumy oblast, near the village of Mohrytsia. Zaxid.net reports that Vasyl Dovbush is originally from Lviv. He graduated school No. 63 and the Ukrainian Academy of Printing. In a comment to zaxid.net, Channel 24 presenter Sofia Troshchuk said that Vasyl Dovbush is best characterized by two things: kindness and love of truth. “He was a very kind and cheerful person. Whenever Vasylko would go on combat missions, having already been in the Defense Forces, he would always be optimistic about it. He would write that he would come back, ask us not to be sad and say for how long he would be unavailable. Later he would tell us about it in his characteristic manner. Vasylko was a great truth-teller. It could hurt strangers, but when he didn’t like something, he would definitely speak out,” says Sofia Troshchuk. She added that Vasylko was interested in motorcycles. After leaving Channel 24, he worked at a motorcycle repair shop for a while, and then in an IT company. “Vasyl was a best man at our wedding and made a sculpture together with an artist he knew. This is what remains with us from Vasyl and what is left of Vasyl. This characterizes him quite well as a person: very inventive and creative. I don’t know a single person in the world who could say anything bad about Vasyl. He is a very kind, intelligent, and sensitive person,” said Sofia Troshchuk. According to the Institute of Mass Information, Vasyl Dovbush is the 105th media professional to die as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression. RELATED
